Bringing Out the Best provides free family-centered, community-based services to children ages birth -five with social/ emotional and behavioral challenges. Our objective is to increase the number of children in Guilford County that are healthy and ready to succeed as they enter kindergarten.

**THIS IS A VERY BUSY TIME OF YEAR AT BRINGING OUT THE BEST. OUR CURRENT WAIT TIME IS ABOUT 2-3 MONTHS**

Effective February 2024: Due to the large number of children on our wait list, we cannot guarantee that rising kindergarten-age children (starting K in 2024) can be seen before they start kindergarten.

Available Services

Develop individualized plans for increasing a child’s success in the classroom and in the home
Training and technical assistance for childcare providers is available both virtually (phone, email, video) and/or in-person.
One-on-one parenting support and coaching provided in the home or community. Other formats are available (phone, email or virtual) if preferred.
Parent education groups (currently only taking place virtually)
Staff development for childcare providers (certificates for DCDEE Contact Hours Credits available).

In the Early Years

For the past 20 years, Bringing Out the Best has lived up to its name by helping Guilford County residents under 5 years old overcome behavioral, social, and emotional challenges.

Helping approximately 100 children a year, the program has a year-round waitlist with caregivers eagerly waiting for their child’s name to be next in line to work with one of Bringing Out the Best’s dedicated specialists – trained professionals who Program Director Janet Howard describes as superheroes.
