October 2021

10/28/21  @ 6:30-8:00pm    Puppetry in the Early Childhood Classroom   (presented by Courtney Barrett)

In this workshop, participants will explore how to use puppets to enhance classroom management and improve student engagement in the early childhood classroom. Approved for 1.5 contact hours through DCDEE.

November 2021

11/2/21 @6:30-8:00pm   Encouraging Empathy (presented by Joy Herrera)

This training will provide information regarding why teaching empathy is important, how to teach empathy (teacher’s role), specific strategies and interventions that encourage empathy, as well as explain the barriers to a child’s ability to empathize.  Approved for 1.5 contact hours through DCDEE.

11/9/21:  Guilford Early Learning Collaborative (GELC) presents: Diving Deep for Transformational Change (presented by Jodi Wert)

This will be a virtual training.  This session is approved for 1.5 contact hours through DCDEE.

January 2022

Date coming soon: Return from the Holidays: How to Prepare for and Manage Behaviors (presented by Bringing Out the Best staff)

This training will review the importance of proper transitions and give concrete ideas and examples of how to handle the return to school routine after being home for the holidays.  Teachers will walk away with techniques to encourage successful re-entry and to manage behavior challenges that might pop up.  Approved for 1.5 contact hours through DCDEE.

February 2022

2/16/22 @6:00-7:30pm: Behavioral Red Flags: How to Determine Next Steps (presented by various community  professionals)

Participants in this training will hear from an occupational therapist, a speech/language therapist as well as a school psychologist on what challenges a child’s behaviors might be communicating, how to address them and when a referral is needed.  Approved for 1.5 contact hours through DCDEE.
